Two moves from global central banks this morning are getting a lot of love from investors.

I told you so! All of last week, I kept saying the market was only hitting highs because it was being manipulated that way and, by Friday we'd had enough and took our ill-gotten gains off the table once again.

Investors held their breath hoping the year will end with the S&P 500 boasting a 29-percent advance, for its best year since 1997.

Although stocks generally made a modest decline on Thursday as a result of two disappointing economic reports, the Dow Jones Industrial Average managed to reach new record intraday and closing highs.

Stocks fell as investors reacted negatively to the adoption of the “Volcker rule”, which prohibits banks from proprietary trading.

Stocks again retreated on good news during Thursday’s session, proving that taper fear is not gone – it has just been reduced to taper “concern.”
