Annaly Capital Management Inc. – the mortgage real estate investment trust (mREIT) – reported third-quarter 2014 core earnings of 31 cents per share, in line with the Zacks Consensus Estimate.

Welcome to edition 217 of Insider Weekends. Insider buying decreased significantly last week with insiders buying $33.73 million of stock compared to $113.26 million in the week prior.

This is certainly one Magic Bus of a market, flipping on a dime or, more accurately, bouncing off the Dow's 200 day moving average at 16,350 back towards our predicted strong bounce line at 16,650.

1,900 on the S&P, 16,600 on the Dow! The month isn't quite over yet but we're up about 3% for the year now although, as Dave Fry points out, on record low volumes – which makes the whole thing sort of suspect.
