Investors in U.S. equities seem to have embraced a new market paradigm in which upside spikes come more swiftly than the downside selloffs.

Like other social media companies LinkedIn has beaten the Wall Street earnings consensus every quarter since going public, but that hasn’t always been enough to keep investors satisfied.

he Labor Department said the Consumer Price Index edged up 0.1% last month. In the 12 months through September, the CPI rose 1.7%. The core CPI, which strips out food and energy prices, ticked up 0.1% last month, while the year-on-year change held steady at 1.7%.
