The over-publicized departure of Bill Gross from the fixed income goliath he founded roughly 30 years ago has brought about some interesting crosscurrents in recent fund-flow statistics.

The new funds will face stiff competition from PIMCO products that lead the fixed income market in an actively managed space.

The pace of new actively managed ETFs being released to the market has continued to heat up this year. Of the 106 total ETFs that are designated as active by the SEC, 35 have been released this year and many more are planned in the near future.
