In the three weeks since the company released Apple Pay, its first stab at a mobile wallet, some major retailers are seeing a wave of consumers eager to check out at the register with their iPhones.

Apple is a revolutionary company. Starting with the iPod and iTunes, Apple has continually turned industries on their heads reaping big profits along the way. Now setting their targets on the mobile payments industry, Apple is about to hit another grand slam.

I first identified a potential bottom in Whole Foods Market (WFM) back in July. The following month I became even more convinced of a bottom after a rumor of Carl Icahn’s involvement allowed me to sell another round of call options at a nice profit.

Shares of Whole Foods Market, Inc. rose 8% during after-market trading hours yesterday, following a better-than-expected fourth-quarter fiscal 2014 bottom line and an encouraging guidance.

Both companies performed admirably despite share prices that have been on rollercoaster rides for the past several months.

The increase in prices and the harder hit to one’s wallet is due in large part to the fact that the average price of beef increased a whopping 18% on a year-over-year basis.
