While The Mobile World Battles On The Software Front, HTC Looks To Hardware To Win

An interesting trend to watch is the shift from hardware to the dominance of operating systems, apps, ecosystems, and software in general. I mean, take Samsung, the market leader, for example. As we all hold our breath for a quality build, premium feeling Samsung Galaxy, the company keeps embracing plastic devices and we keep buying them!

Of course on the other side of the fence lays a certain company in Cupertino who definitely spends much of its resources on premium material and if the rumors of the iPhone 6 are true, and I would bet they are, the next phone will be constructed of even higher level hardware.

Apple aside, in the Android universe, HTC seems to be going old school and focusing its energy on making truly beautiful looking and feeling devices for the general market.

The newest addition and the phone literally every blogger is calling “The best Android phone ever”, the HTC One/M8 is no different. Watch the review from The Verge and you will find more similarities between HTC and Apple phones than HTC and its competitors Samsung, LG, and all the other guys who make Android phones and are not worth mentioning here if I am judging by their market share.

Enjoy the review and food for thought… Is hardware becoming a relevant component in the success of a mobile device or is HTC betting on the wrong horse?
