So I'm typing EDITED/ADDED A WORK HERE to see what happens. I'll write it with another paragraph break:And one more here:I will now edit this comment to see what happens.

Stocks: Fourth Time A Charm?

Interesting piece. I don't know if you have read "The Wise Men, Six Friends and The World They Made". One of the wise men is McCloy. I increasingly do not believe what is happening in the world can be explained simply by looking at nations and finance. I believe there are now 4 key global players: nations, multinational firms, NGOs (including religious groups) and international orgs such as World Bank and IMF. Sometime these players work together, sometimes they are enemies.... And it and more.

Netflix: Partnering With France's Orange Could Be A Key Step In Strengthening Its European Footprint

Personally I like Netflix better simply because it works on all my devices (my TV, my DVD player, my Android devices, etc.). Plus I know anything that comes up, is included.

However, my kids started using Amazon more when one day - bam there were no more Nickelodeon shows on Netflix - they had lost the deal. They were going crazy until we saw these shows were on Amazon Instant Video.

Obamacare Goes Live Today: Here Is The Next Big Problem
10 years ago
I actually had tried to sign up for Obamacare but was denied as ineligible. Calling the Help Line was no help at all - the rep I spoke with knew less about Obamacare than I did, wasn't able to answer the majority of my questions, and the few she did answer were obviously wrong (e.g. people with more than 2 kids can't enroll)! A supervisor looked through my account and could not understand why I was denied. She said my only recourse was to send a snail mail letter to appeal the verdict. She said it would take several months to get a response.

I also own both (last generation) and the Kindle can't compare to the iPad, but as you said Barry, neither can the price. They're in different leagues. That being said, while the iPad is my go-to tablet, there are certain times I prefer the smaller kindle.

Bicycles In Three Cities - Citi Bikes Leading The Pack

I was very impressed with the Citi Bike program when it was first announced - I wish they offered it when I lived in NYC. Clearly the program is doing well. I read just last week that they are adding 4,000 more bikes to the program. Nearly doubling the number of bikes to a total of 10,000.

A “Black Day” For Walmart – Website Glitches Causes Havoc And Major Losses
10 years ago
While I generally support honoring price mistakes, I believe it was harder for Walmart to do so in this situation. Airlines with available seats often end up selling them at a fraction of the cost anyway. That's because the plane flies whether it has empty seats or not. There's a negligble increase in cost/each additioanl passenger. So as long as that extra passenger is paying something, the airline still makes money. In Walmart's case, items were sold far below cost. Walmart took a huge hit.

A “Black Day” For Walmart – Website Glitches Causes Havoc And Major Losses

It was nationwide at Walmart.com. But since people all over the country purchased items for in-store pick up at their local stores, it is likely every Walmart in the country was affected.
