GDX Hammered On Close
Did you catch that close on the gold stocks? It is no wonder so many people lose their minds with this sector. 1 minute chart…
In The Land Of Indicators
In the land of indicators, there is just as much confusion as there is in the land of asset markets. In the markets it’s gold miners up, down, up… stock market up… and up again.
2 Horsemen Up Again
The gold-silver ratio and USD are both up this morning.
NFTRH: Gold, Gold Stock Parameters, Discussion
Gold stocks very logically bounced from the equivalent of HUI 152, which is support from 2008 and the 2002-2003 period.
SPX Hourly Chart
Just for fun, let’s dial in close up to the wonder bounce going on in stocks.
% Of Bullish Indicators
The percentage of bullish sentiment indicators has plummeted with the stock market ‘V’ bounce after becoming contrarily bullish at the height (or depths) of hysteria in mid-October.
Yield Curve Today
Yields spreads from 10 to 5 to 2 years are declining, while nominal yields rise.
Currencies & Commentary
In light of the news from the land of the rising sun and the sinking currency, let’s reserve NFTRH 315’s only real charting for a big picture monthly view of currencies.
All Fixed
Palladium vs. gold, which was used as a gauge of coming economic strength in early 2013, had recently been making bearish signs, with only a cross down of the weekly moving averages holding out from confirmation.
Bond Risk Profiles Flip Flop… Slightly
Today we see a massive risk ‘ON’ impulse throughout the world.
Dusting Up The VIX
Things are getting pretty hysterical in gold miner land.
Fear Gap Closing
This does not mean gold bugs should run out and get long. It just means that a dynamic event (what we used to call Armageddon ’08) has been closed out as if it never happened. Like magic.
Around The Interwebs…
I continue to sleep soundly with gold (well, not literally) and continue to realize that these things are no good right now to people interested in pricing as opposed to value or insurance.
Mixed Message In Bonds
Over in bond land where so many good market indicators live, we have a strange situation with the generally risk ‘OFF’ TLT (long-term Treasury) consolidating right along with the very risk ‘ON’ HYG (junk). But TLT is trying to make a little sneak out of its flag today.
Two Horsemen Ride
The Gold-Silver ratio and the US dollar are rising and taking liquidity out of the market.
Yield Curve Today
The market may be a little jumpy today but whirring beneath the surface here on Fed hype day, the 10 vs. 2 year yield curve is looking risk ‘ON’ ish.
