Welcome to edition 202 of Insider Weekends. Insider buying declined sharply last week with insiders purchasing $16.74 million of their stock compared to $48.69 million in the week prior.

The real earnings season is nearly over. For the past month and a half, our analysts have diligently gone through over 3,000 annual reports, Form 10-K’s, to make adjustments from GAAP numbers to economic earnings. This report features an interesting non-operating item we’ve discovered in numerous filings.

The weakness last week in U.S. stocks was entirely expected. As I mentioned in last weekend’s article, the technical condition had become quite overbought and the market was overdue to take a breather and pull back a bit.
