KeyCorp’s total revenue came in at $998 million, down 4.3% from the prior-year quarter. Further, it was lower than the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $1.04 billion.

Insider buying increased significantly with insiders buying $88.99 million of stock. Most of this increase was driven by IPO related purchases. With earnings season in full swing other insider purchases remain muted. Selling also increased with insiders selling $549.37 million of stock.

Stock investors track the U.S. economy tightly, like a barnacle on the hull of a boat. And these days, that tracking mindset is sliding underwater.

Stocks ended last week on a high note, closing a smidge above strong resistance at 1900 for the S&P 500, which set a new closing high for the large-cap index, albeit on low pre-holiday volume.

Bulls continue to climb their wall of worry, as uncertainty from the latest “bricks in the wall” created by Russia in Crimea, slowing growth in China, and Fed tapering fades into the mosaic.

After a requisite knee-jerk selloff, stock market bulls shook off Russia’s military action in Ukraine and Crimea as just another buying opportunity. Even adding the Russian Bear to their arsenal couldn’t give bears the upper hand for long.
